help needed, please

Hi All*,
After installing new software on my PC, shell customization related, I somehow lost my "auto logon" settings and cannot figure out how to get them back. To be a bit more specific, I do not want to have to click a user name whenever I boot up Windows. I am the only person that ever uses my PC. I've already tried unistalling the software, but problem stayed with me.

I know I saw a "tweak" for it somewhere, but of course now that I need it, I haven't a clue where to find it.
Anyone? Any help is appreciated!

Tweak UI has an option under the "Logon" tab that will accomplish this. Tweak UI is a Microsoft "... PowerToy [that] gives you access to system settings that are not exposed in the Windows XP default user interface, including mouse settings, Explorer settings, taskbar settings, and more."

You can download it and other PowerToy's here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

If you really want to get rid of it for good (like I did since only my wife and I use my laptop, and she just uses my account), open the Run dialog, type services.msc and disable the service Fast User Switching.

Here's another thing you can try:
1. Open a command prompt.
2. Type: control userpasswords2 and press Enter. This launches the User Accounts application.
3. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter a User Name and Password to Use This Computer check box.
4. Click OK.
5. The Automatically Log On dialog box appears.
6. Type the user name and password for the account that you want to be logged on to automatically each time you start your computer.

Thanks All*,
I tried all of the above, and found nothing seemed to work. Then, I uninstalled the new GANT 2 Ocean pack, and now, all is OK again. Plus, I still somehow have all of the GANT2 System Icons, which I like.
Thanks to Everyone!
Happy New Year!

The nice thing I discovered about disabling the fast user switching service was that, even though WIndows logged me in automatically every time I rebooted, when I went in to Standby (which I do often with my laptop) it still stopped at the log screen every time I went out of Standby and I had to click my icon. Now when I go out of Standby it just opens right up to my desktop, no log screen, nothing.
